In September 2023, Theatre Bay Area launched a new program connecting audiences to productions around their equity and sustainability practices.
The two main deliverables I developed for TBA Highlights were an icon system to represent the achievements themselves, as well as an animated trailer building hype and credibility of the program upon launch.
Icon System
The icons were designed for theatre companies to use in their marketing materials across print and digital applications. They should give enough context indicate the meaning of the specific achievement and feel prestigious.
I pitched a few different options for the icon system, and we ended up selecting the “badge” style.
The icons also appear in a reduced form on TBA’s own show listings:
Launch Trailer
The public launch trailer was a fun opportunity to grow my motion graphics skills. It was important for the launch day messaging to make the right first impression for theatre audiences; the goal was to clearly introduce the badges (and what they indicate), and link the activity of seeing theatre with supporting cutting-edge artists.
